It's been reported that pop superstar Beyonce performed the "black power" salute during the superbowl 50 half time show yesterday. No one really cares, except for Rudy Guiliani who thinks it was an offense against the police.
It has also been reported that former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo shouted "white power" during a concert a couple of weeks back, while performing a nazi salute. In stark contrast to the Beyonce salute, everybody condemns, everybody distances themselves and this being metal, uses a lot of foul language in the process. As a metal artist you've got to condemn with a rebellious edge, I guess.
Mr. Anselmo later on issued an official apology which is what puts us off the most with this story. "just give me another chance" as stated in the apology is the kind of thing the Head Honcho would hear from them womenfolk all day long, not the words you'd expect from the front man of one of the angriest metal bands ever. But don't worry Phil, we'll give you another chance, we'll give "vulgar display of power" another spin.
Not for Pussies!
