There's a saying in Swedish that translates into something like: "when satan grows old, he'll turn religious". Heavy metal bastion Terrorizer Magazine, begs, no demands of metal heads all over the world to become less, um, terrorizing towards gays. The article argues that the gay-rate in society is around 7% and therefore, there ought to be a whole lot of gay metal musicians, beside Rob Halford. We asked the head honcho to share his thoughts about the article, and he mumbled something along the lines of "Has terrorizer been bought by Disney? Nothing is sacred anymore."
Almost simultaneously, e-zine Metal Injection claimed that "The Problem With Heavy Metal Is Metalheads". The author resembles metal fans to "angry, dumb ogres" (cool, apparently) while preaching to "Stop Calling Everyone A Faggot" (uncool, on the other hand). When we tried to reach the head honcho for a comment, he said "can't talk right now, I have to go to a Madonna concert".
Even more metal; vice magazine is a little upset that the black metal community has not received new female recording artist Myrkur with open arms. The official stance of ulbator regarding black metal is that we love the subculture. Couldn't ever stand the music but we love the accompanying culture (describing black metal with love may very well be a first).
Is it important to "convert" metal? Make it more gay and feminist? Ehm...
Not for Pussies!
